Jim & Suzi, Sorry I am so late in getting this to you, but my husband, E.. and I want to thank you for the dance lessons you gave us last fall. You taught us a foxtrot to "Make Someone Happy" by Perry Como. The day was wonderful, everything went perfectly including our dance! Join us for our Saturday guided practice session from 1:00-2:00pm.We primarily review the 6 basic ballroom dances (Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing, Rumba, and Cha Cha) with other dances on request and provide a practice time to go over the steps you know.  The instructors will be available to answer questions about figures you have already been taught but will not teach new figures in the standard dances.  The instructors may also be practicing and questions will only be answered at the end of a song if they are practicing.  These sessions will cost $5 per couple, pay as you go, and are open to all current and previous students.  All of our Des Moines Dance students may attend this practice session who have taken our classes.  This includes all students at sites other than Dance-A-Cross.  We also have a one hour guided practice at the West Des Moines Community Center from 1:30-2:30 on Sundays and another on Thursdays from 7:45-8:45 with a cost of $5 per couple for either session.

Ballroom Dance, as may be obviously seen, is done by couples.  Our classes are oriented toward couples and we do not require couples to rotate. We do accept singles in the class with the understanding that they will get less dance time than those who come with a partner.  In past times, people went to dances and the etiquette was to dance with whoever asked.  Today, most people go to dances to dance with their partner and not to dance with lots of other people.  It is your choice with whom you dance and we respect that.
